Extraordinary MINDS - Nature of Humans

I often wonder if I should have had children? I was raised in a dysfunctional Environment. I bred with a mate who had very serious mental issues.

I know my parents had mental issues. With all these mental issues flying off the walls. I now see even more dysfunction in my Adult children, who introduced more dysfunctional mental issues into the blood line, giving my grandchildren with a whole lot of issues to deal with.

It saddens me that my choices to procreate may have been huge mistakes and Most days I want to get off the Crazy Train of Dysfunctional personalities. Of course Society has played a big role, as our children grow, and our teens are faced with peer pressure, more intense than my generation faced. I do not blame myself exclusively, but it breaks my heart to witness all the turmoil, in the "Family".

It makes me cranky in my old age. I would like to Just kick back relax, stop worrying about anything and finding some peacefulness in life. I am exhausted from trying to analyze why they say the things they do and why they do the things they do. I am going to stop giving advice or offering solutions to their problems, they just ignore it anyway. I will continue to convince myself that I am much better off alone, with my analytic mind finding answers and peace of mind.

Research Shows: Even the best-behaved children can be difficult and challenging at times. However, if your child or teen has or had a persistent pattern of tantrums, arguing, and angry or disruptive behavior toward you and other authority figures, he/she may have Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) Foul language and name calling are not uncommon in Young Adults with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). I had three children and one of them was most likely ODD.

Studies Show: Children who grew up with ODD and went untreated may have transitioned into Adults with Bipolar Disorder (ABD).. ODD can be diagnosed in children as young as 3 years of age, due to years of research.

In 2011 it was reported that One in 5 American Adults aged 18 or older have Mental Illness, or 45.6 million people, had mental illness in the past year, according to a report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Only about 60 percent of people with mental illness get treatment. Un-diagnosed and left untreated the other 40 percent suffer with a variety of dysfunctional behaviors due to personality disorders.

Treatment of ODD involves therapy, and training to help build positive family interactions, and possibly medications to treat related underlying Mental Health Conditions.

Oppositional defiant disorder in youth with or without Conduct Disorder were found to have significantly higher rates of Comorbidity: which means it is either the presence of one or more disorders (or diseases) Comorbid Psychiatric Disorders (CPD) showed significantly greater family and/or social dysfunction.

It has been a while since I was an enrollment counselor for ITT Technical Institute, unknowingly I dealt with many personality disorders. College Education results in Careers, however, Social impairments and the inability to “Work Well With Others” is a main reason why our population struggles to maintain employment.  A Child with ODD most likely “Would Not Play Well With Others”. Employers are looking for: self awareness,
self reliance,
willingness to learn,
ability to plan and prioritize,
team players,
good communication,
interpersonal skills,
problem solver and flexibility.

If you or your child has the following symptoms for ODD:
Temper tantrums
Continuous arguing
Defiance of rules
Continual blaming of others
Angry and resentful affect
Spiteful and vindictive behavior

As a parent, you don't have to go it alone, now-a-days, in trying to manage a child with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Doctors, counselors and child development experts can help.

If the above symptoms describes how you were as a child you might need to check yourself for ODD Transitional Adult Bipolar Disorder (ABD).. Symptom examples may include: 1) A person who might impulsively quit a job, or charge up huge amounts on credit cards during the High side of Bipolar Disorder. 2) During a depressive episode, the same person might be too tired to get out of bed and have feelings of self-loathing. They commonly feel hopelessness over being unemployed and/or in debt. The sudden mood changes from high to low can last for a long time or shorter times in one day.

The causes of bipolar disorder aren't completely understood, but it often runs in families. Like the One in 5 family Mental illnesses researched since the Millennium
